Home Food, Olia Hercules
I interviewed Olia for The i Paper on the publication of this book, which draws together many recipes from her family’s Central Asian heritage as well as the other dishes which have become regular favourites in her London home.
We also talked, of course, about the devastating war in Ukraine. She shares how food has guided her, both when she wasn’t able to cook during the first months of grief and shock, to being able to take pleasure in the act when she travelled to meet her parents once they, too, fled their home.
I really recommend all of Olia’s books for their cultural insights as much as the great recipes. You can also suscribe to her Patreon to support Ukraine.
