On Writers and Writing, Margaret Atwood

.

How dare she!

This book about writing from the mistress of the universe doesn’t tell you how to write at all!

But it is beautiful, thoughtful (obviously) and provocative, plumbing the less obvious depths of why we write and how we can more deeply engage with our choice.

As a child Atwood spent long periods in the Canadian wilderness as her father did scientific research. Funny how so many writers pay $$$ for such a luxury these days.

Here’s a proper review.
